Maaemo, Oslo: Prices, Booking Dates and How to Get a Table

Book a table: Reserve at Maaemo on its official booking page. This is the "Reservations" link on Maaemo's own website, maaemo.no.

At Maaemo, Oslo's three-MICHELIN-star tasting-menu restaurant, getting a table comes down to one date in the calendar: tables are released once a month, two months ahead. Here's what you need to know before you plan a trip around it. Star status follows the MICHELIN Guide as we checked it on 19 October 2026. What the restaurant's site covers

Maaemo's website keeps things short. It lists the menu price, the drinks options, how bookings work, the private dining room, gift cards and contact details. It doesn't include a description of the food or a sample menu, so this guide sticks to those practical details.

The menu and prices

Maaemo serves one seasonal tasting menu. Prices as listed on its information page, checked on 19 October 2026:

The drinks selections are listed separately from the menu, so add them on top if you want one.

When tables are released

This is the bit to get right. Maaemo says it releases reservations on the 1st of each month at 12:00PM CET (mid day), two months ahead of the month you want (information page). Its own table works like this:

By that schedule, tables for January 2027 are released on 1 November 2026, and tables for February 2027 on 1 December 2026.

If your date or party size isn't available online, the restaurant asks you to email booking@maaemo.no to ask about possibilities and availability (information page).

Table sizes and private rooms

• Main dining room: tables for 1 to 6 guests (information page).
• The Living Room: Maaemo's booking page lists a private room in its lounge for parties of 4 to 8.
• Private Dining Room: the restaurant says it seats up to 16 guests, has its own dedicated kitchen and staff, and is completely separate from the main dining room. It serves the same courses at the same price as the tasting menu in the main dining room. You can book it online or by emailing booking@maaemo.no (private dining room). The booking page lists it for parties of 6 to 16.

Seatings, opening days and deposit

Maaemo's website doesn't list its opening days. Its booking page says there are two seatings on Fridays and Saturdays, with the first starting at 17.00 and ending at 20.20. Check the booking calendar for the second seating and for which other days are available.

The booking page lists a deposit of NOK 500 per person for the main dining room, The Living Room and the Private Dining Room, checked on 19 October 2026. We couldn't see the full cancellation and deposit terms without starting a booking, so read them on the booking page before you pay.

Dietary requirements

Maaemo says it can't accommodate all dietary restrictions, and that if a requirement would mean comprehensive changes to the menu it might not be able to take the request (information page). If you have one, email booking@maaemo.no before you book.

Maaemo's address is Dronning Eufemias gate 23, 0194 Oslo, Norway (contact page). For general enquiries, the restaurant's website gives booking@maaemo.no. Its booking page also lists the phone number +47 22 17 99 69.

Gift cards

Maaemo sells gift cards on its website. They're sent as a PDF by email, and the restaurant says to allow up to 48 hours for them to arrive. They're valid for one year from purchase, and the restaurant says it can't extend that. Options listed when we checked on 19 October 2026:

Planning an Oslo trip around Maaemo

Work backwards from the release date. Pick the month you want to travel, then put the 1st of the month two months earlier in your calendar, at 12:00 CET as the restaurant gives it. Booking the table before flights and a hotel avoids planning a trip around a date you can't get.

Have a back-up date. If your first choice is gone, try another night in the same month, or email booking@maaemo.no as the restaurant suggests.

Budget in kroner. The tasting menu is 5 900 NOK per guest. With the standard wine selections it comes to 9 850 NOK per guest, and with the non-alcoholic selections, 7 800 NOK. Convert at your bank's rate on the day of travel.

Read the deposit terms. The booking page lists a NOK 500 per person deposit. Check the cancellation terms there before you confirm, especially if your travel dates might change.

Groups of 7 or more. Main dining room tables go up to 6, so larger groups need The Living Room (4 to 8) or the Private Dining Room (up to 16).

Maaemo releases its tables on the 1st of each month, two months ahead, and the menu is 5 900 NOK per guest. Set a reminder for the release date and read the booking terms before you pay the deposit.
