Book a table: Reserve at Koan on its official booking page. This is the "Reservations" link on Koan's own website, koancph.dk.

Koan serves one tasting menu, with a vegetarian version at the same price, and a choice of six drinks pairings. This guide covers what it costs, when it's open and how to book. Star status follows the MICHELIN Guide as we checked it on 30 October 2026. Everything else comes from Koan's own website and the pages it links to, checked on 30 October 2026. Prices change, so check koancph.dk before you book.

For the restaurant at a glance, see our Koan page. To compare it with the city's other starred menus, see every Copenhagen tasting menu by price, or browse our Copenhagen page.

The Michelin view

Distinction: Two MICHELIN Stars, 2026 MICHELIN Guide Denmark (MICHELIN Guide), as listed when we checked on 30 October 2026.

Read the inspectors' full write-up on the MICHELIN Guide page.

What the restaurant's site covers

Koan's website is short. Its information page carries a letter signed by Kristian Baumann, the menu and pairing prices, a link to the extended wine list, gift cards, notes on allergies and the vegetarian menu, card fees and the address. Its contact page has the opening hours and the booking email. The site doesn't publish a sample menu or a list of dishes, so this guide sticks to those practical details.

Koan menu og pris

Prices exactly as shown on Koan's information page when we checked on 30 October 2026. The site prints them without a currency sign; Koan is in Denmark, and its gift card shop lists the same amounts in DKK, so read them as Danish kroner.

Menu Price as shown
Tasting Menu (minimum 3 hours) 3.800,-
Vegetarian Tasting Menu (minimum 3 hours) 3.800,-

Both menus are listed at the same price. If you want the vegetarian menu, Koan asks you to make sure you notify it when booking your table.

Koan's information page doesn't say whether the price is per person. Its gift card shop, linked from the site, lists the "Tasting menu" as "Pr. person" (gift cards).

Vinmenu and pairings

Pairings as shown on the information page, checked on 30 October 2026:

Pairing Price as shown
Koan Wine Pairing 2.300,-
Champagne Pairing 3.800,-
Classic Wine Pairing 5.000,-
Prestige Wine Pairing 15.000,-
Korean Sool Pairing 2.300,-
Non Alcoholic Pairing 2.000,-

The pairings are listed separately from the menu, so add one on top if you want it. Koan also says it offers "a pairing of non alcoholic beverages combined with your choice of Koan Wine, Classic Wine, Prestige Wine or Korean Sool pairing upon request". No price is listed for that, so ask when you book.

If you'd rather order by the bottle, the information page links to an extended wine list (the file is dated 2026.10.20).

What dinner costs, added up

Using the prices on the information page (30 October 2026), the tasting menu with:

  • the Non Alcoholic Pairing comes to 5.800,-
  • the Koan Wine Pairing or the Korean Sool Pairing comes to 6.100,-
  • the Champagne Pairing comes to 7.600,-
  • the Classic Wine Pairing comes to 8.800,-
  • the Prestige Wine Pairing comes to 18.800,-

Koan's information page also says that corporate credit cards (issued in and outside the EU) and private credit cards issued outside the EU "will be subject to a fee". The amount isn't stated.

Åbningstider: opening hours

Hours as shown on the contact page, checked on 30 October 2026:

Day Hours
Tuesday – Thursday 18:00 – 24:00
Friday 12:00 – 16:00 & 19:00 – 24:00
Occasional Saturdays 12:00 – 16:00 & 19:00 – 24:00

Koan explains it like this: "In weeks where we are open Tuesday through Friday, lunch is served on Friday. In the occasional weeks that include a Saturday, lunch moves to Saturday." The site doesn't list a separate lunch menu or price. Both menus are listed as "minimum 3 hours", so allow for that when you plan the rest of the day or evening.

Bordbestilling: how to book

Bookings go through the Reservations link on Koan's website, which opens its booking page. For booking questions, the contact page gives booking@koancph.dk.

Koan's own pages don't set out deposit, cancellation or no-show terms, and we couldn't read the booking page's terms without starting a booking. Read them on the booking page before you confirm.

Dietary requirements

Koan says it can't accommodate every dietary restriction, and that it may not be able to help if a requirement means big changes to the menu. Contact the restaurant before you book: booking@koancph.dk. Koan asks guests to get in touch before making a reservation.

Location and contact

Koan's homepage description says: "We are based in the historical building Langelinieskuret in Østerbro". The address is Langeliniekaj 5. 2100 Copenhagen Ø (information, contact). Booking: booking@koancph.dk. Check the address against where you're staying before you decide how to get there.

Gift cards

Koan sells gift cards through the "Giftcards" link on its website (gift card shop). When we checked on 30 October 2026, the shop listed these options, with the amounts as shown there:

  • Tasting menu, Pr. person: 3800
  • Tasting menu inkl. Koan vinmenu, Pr. person: 6100
  • Tasting menu inkl. Champagne menu, Pr. pers.: 7600
  • Tasting menu inkl. Classic vinmenu, pr. person: 8800
  • Tasting menu inkl. Prestige vinmenu, Pr. person: 18800

The shop also offers a gift card for a set amount. Its terms say gift cards are valid for 12 to 60 months from the date they're issued, and that the expiry date is always shown clearly; the menu cards above were listed as valid for 36 months when we checked. Check the date on the card you buy.

Planning a Copenhagen evening around Koan

Pick your night first. Koan opens Tuesday to Friday, with lunch on Friday, and some weeks it opens on Saturday and moves lunch there. Check the booking calendar for your dates before you fix the rest of the trip.

Budget in kroner. The tasting menu is 3.800,-. With the Koan Wine Pairing it comes to 6.100,-, and with the Non Alcoholic Pairing, 5.800,-. Convert at your bank's rate on the day you travel.

Mention the vegetarian menu when you book. Koan asks to be told at booking, and it's the same price as the tasting menu.

Read the booking terms. Check the deposit and cancellation terms on the booking page before you confirm, and note the card fee for corporate cards and cards issued outside the EU.

Koan's tasting menu is 3.800,- when we checked on 30 October 2026, with six pairings from 2.000,- to 15.000,-. For more starred menus in the city, see Copenhagen tasting menus by price and our Copenhagen page.
